Neutrophilic dermatosis of the hands is conside-red an acral localized variant of Sweet Syndrome, more frequent in women and mainly associated with hematological diseases. The lesions appear as papules, vesicles, nodules, plaques, ulcers, and blisters, mainly on the back of the hands. Appro-ximately half of the patients present a phenome-non of pathergy as a triggering factor. Herein we describe a case of neutrophilic dermatosis of the hands after a dog bite, associated with primary myelofibrosis and development of facial lesions.

RESUMO

Myelofibrosis occurring both in childhood and adulthood is most commonly idiopathic, followed by neoplastic infiltration of the bone marrow. We are reporting an extremely rare association of idiopathic hypoparathyroidism associated with stable secondary myelofibrosis.

RESUMO

Extramedullary hematopoiesis is a common finding in idiopathic myelofibrosis and is generally found in the liver, spleen and lymph nodes, but meningeal extramedullary hematopoiesis is very rare. Some diseases may be causes of intracranial masses and diagnosis is difficult. We present a case diagnosed as intracranial and meningeal extramedullary hematopoiesis with idiopathic myelofibrosis inducing serious headache

RESUMO

There was a significant increase in reticulin in bone marrow among rachitic children with anemia [50%] and highly significant increase in reticulin among rachitic children with anemia and hepatosplenomegaly [90%], compared with controls and rachitic children without anemia. As regards blood picture, there was a significant increase in immature granulocytes and immature erythrocytes among rachitic children with anemia and highly significant increase among rachitic children with anemia and hepatosplenomegaly, compared with controls. The results of total leucocytic count, platelet count showed insignificant statistical difference among rachitic children compared with control group. There was a proportional increase between the degree of reticulin and alkaline phosphatase activity. The higher the reticulin grade, the higher the alkaline phosphatase activity. However, a reciprocal correlation between reticulin and hemoglobin has been noted. The higher reticulin grading, the lower hemoglobin concentration. Lastly, a relation between reticulin grading and the size of the liver and spleen has been observed. The higher reticulin grade, the larger the size of the liver and spleen. It could be concluded that active vitamin D deficiency rickets is associated with anemia and secondary myelofibrosis and may be accompanied with myeloid metaplasia
